MY JOURNEY
LaRhonda Mabry
Founder - Heart of Gold Shelter
God gave me this vision in 2018 to start a nonprofit organization and with much prayer and seeking God here I am 4 years later. I'm a survivor of domestic violence and I know first-hand how I hid in silence, too afraid to speak about what had happened to me. I was a woman that was battered, bruised, and it broke me mentally, physically, and spiritually. Honestly, I thank God for healing and forgiveness. It's my duty to give back to the community and help women that have suffered domestic violence. Trust me it's not an easy road to travel but with trusting God there will be light at end of the road one day. I want every woman that's going through this difficult situation to know they can do life again regardless of the setback. My ultimate goal is to serve as many women as possible that God will allow me to serve. Love Shouldn't Hurt and we have to break the cycle of domestic violence.
